New Coustille
The Coustille was developed in an effort to create an all-in-one weapon. Convenient to carry like a dagger but with the cutting power of a short sword, it was long enough to use for defense but still could be thrust under a belt to ride easily with. The well-tempered blade is light and very fast with the cutting power of a short sword. It could pass as a dagger in towns where only nobles could openly carry a sword, making it a favorite for the ne’er do well. Steel pommel and guard with a wood grip covered in leather. Includes scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Can be sharpened for additional fee of $18.00.

High carbon steel blade is then and tempered to a good spring. Comes with leather scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Can be sharpened for additional fee of $18.00.

Saxon Hilt Sword

This one-hand cut and thrust sword falls into a class of German swords called Saxon hilts, which were designed with a lower ring filled with an artistically worked metal plate to prevent the intrusion of an opponent's sword tip. A large steel pommel balances the cut and thrust blade very nicely. The guard is also solid steel. Leather covered, grooved wood grip gives a very positive hold. Comes with leather scabbard. Sword of La Bicocca

Although the rapier is strongly associated with the Renaissance, it was generally considered a civilian weapon. An effective cutting sword was more often used by the military and was much preferred in many countries, even by civilians. This offering, circa 1520, is well-balanced and very quick with its jimped steel parts, hardwood and leather grip, and well-tempered high carbon steel blade. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes scabbard. Can be sharpened for additional fee of $18.00.

Sword of Roven
This sword, circa 1400, has great length giving it both reach and power. As the length increased the velocity increased substantially. However, with the addition of the long ricasso, the sword became even more formidable. The ricasso allowed the sword to be gripped past the guard, thus shortening the sword and allowing it to be used as short spear. This made a thrust more solid since the blade is held securely at two separate points. Our version of this sword is as formidable weapon as the originals. The blade is high carbon steel, tempered to a tough spring, the grip is ridged wood, wrapped with leather, and the pommel and guard are steel. Comes complete with leather scabbard. This is an interesting sword type that belongs in all collections of swords. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Scabbard included. Can be sharpened for additional fee of $18.00.

Two Hand Claymore
The remains of this massive Scottish war sword are housed in London's renowned British Museum. The furniture is brass, as with many Highland weapons, to prevent rust in the chronically wet mountain climate. This type of sword would have been carried to the great battlefields where the Scots struggled against their most bitter enemy, the English. In the hands of a brawny highland warrior this would have been a devastating weapon. Hardwood grip accentuates a very attractive sword. High carbon steel fullered blade, ready for an edge. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes scabbard. Can be sharpened for additional fee of $18.00.

Venetian Sword
In 1478, when the trade centers in the Balkans of the Italian city-state Venice came under attack from the Ottoman Turks, the conflict centered at the fortified town of Shkoder in Albania. The town first suffered a heavy bombardment from the Turkish cannons. The turks twice launched assaults against the badly battered walls, but both times the Venetians beat them back. Finally the Turks admitted defeat and withdrew. After the battles, less than 500 men marched safely out of the town. We have named this impressive Italian sword for the Venetians who fought that equally impressive siege. The highly worked steel parts and the twisted wire-over-wood grip nicely balance the deadly fullered well-tempered high carbon steel blade. Comes complete with a scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Original is pictured in

The great Scottish hero, William Wallace, and his band of lowlanders routed a superior English force of 50,000 at Stirling Castle in 1297. This two-hand sword has a well tempered high carbon steel blade with steel parts and a wood grip wrapped with cord and leather. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Comes without scabbard.
